Lower GI Bleed

For referral to the surgical SHO (26462) if any of the following features;

• Unwell patient
• Abdominal pain
• Recent anorectal surgery

In hours, if none of the above then the patient can be streamed directly to AAU.

Out of hours, if none of the above and suitable for discharge and ambulatory follow-up:

• Advise the patient to attend AAU at 8am
• In EPR, click Communicate
• In the To: section, type AAU and press Enter
• Click Pool
• Select "AAU"
• Double click to select this as the address
• (Right click to add to your address book for next time)
• In the body of the message, include a brief summary of the patient's presentation
