Renal Colic

If any of the following, refer to urology (bleep 5206):

• Pain not controlled
• Hydronephrosis
• Abnormal renal function
• Features of infection

If none of the above:

• Refer to the Urinary Tract Stone Follow-up Clinic
• In EPR, click Communicate
• In the To: section, type Consult Urinary and press Enter
• Select Pool
• Select "Consult Urinary Stone ED Use Only"
• Double click to select this as the address
• (Right click to add to your address book for next time)
• In the body of the message, type ~R and select ~R-ED_Urinary_Stone to open up a pro forma
• Complete the proforma and click Send
• Discharge the patient with safetynetting - there is no longer a need to perform an Abdo XR prior to referral
