Occult Elbow (CHILD)

Child presents with elbow pain following a fall 

clinical examination indictes an elbow X-Ray 

Raised anterior fat pad - Occult  fracture

Double looped Collar and cuff.

Read through the Occult fracture elbow leafet with the parents / guadian and patient .

NPC 7 days 

Closed Non displaced Fracture identifed on X-Ray and /or  isoloated raised anterior and posterior fat pads.

If significant swelling and/or pain-  above elbow POP backslab.

if not -  Polysling

Read through the Occult fracture elbow leafet with the parents /guardian and patient .

NPC 7 Days 

Open/ displaced  Fracture

Open and/or displaced fracture

Discuss with on Call Trauma Reg , bleep 1222

and treat as advised.
