Flaminal - Forte and Hydro

Flaminal is an alginate gel with a unique antimicrobial enzyme called Enzyme Alginogel

Flaminal supports wound cleansing and debridement whilst providing antimicrobial and exudate management properties.

Flaminal Forte contains a higher percentage of alginate so is suitable for moderate- highly exudating wounds.

Flaminal Hydro contains a lower percentage of alginate so is suitable for low - moderately exudating wounds.  

No known contraindications of product use - suitable for use on neonates.

Usage guidance

• Can be applied directly to acute or chronic, flat and cavity wounds
• Apply a thick 5mm layer of the gel directly to the wound bed and secure in place with an appropriate secondary dressing.
• It is advised to change dressings every 2-4 days dependent on wound assessment
• Can be applied to a contact layer to aid application and positioning over the wound
• Ensure appropriate product selected for exudate levels of the wound
• If evidence of alginate fibres on wound bed following use of Flaminal Forte, consider changing to flaminal Hydro

It is recommended antimicrobial dressings are prescribed for two weeks for treatment and then reviewed.
