Prontosan Irrigation Solution

Prontosan irrigation solution is an antimicrobial solution for wound cleansing helping to treat and prevent wound infection and biofilm formation.

Prontosan irrigation solution contains Betaine surfactant and PHMB antimicrobial for the cleansing and disruption/prevention of wound infection and biofilms.

Can be used on acute and chronic wounds

Prontosan irrigation solution is contraindicated for use on the central nervous system or meninges, middle or inner ear, eyes or on hyaline cartilage.

Usage guidance

• Apply directly to a gauze swab and lay over wound bed for recommended 'soak' period
• For acute and chronic wounds at risk of infection apply as a wound soak for up to 5 minutes.
• For acute and chronic wounds with wound infection or suspected biofilm apply as wound soak for 5-10 minutes.
• Prontosan irrigation solution can be used in conjunction with Topical Negative Pressure Therapy with instillation (TNPTi)
